Learn to Skate
Welcome, Future Skaters!
Deep South Ice & Sports Complex will be offering Learn to Skate programs on multiple days each week once the rink has ice.
We have over 1,000 pairs of brand-new rental skates and are currently hiring outstanding coaches to help deliver a premium Learn to Skate experience for skaters of all ages and levels.
Deep South Ice & Sports Complex will be licensed to use the Learn to Skate USA curriculum. All coaches will be properly certified, SafeSport compliant, and background checked.
A typical group class will include a 30-minute lesson, with the opportunity to purchase additional practice time.
Skaters may begin as young as age 4 in our Snowplow Sam levels, and we’ll offer classes for every age group — even if you’re 84! Separate classes are planned on two evenings per week as well as Saturdays. Adult classes are also on our radar, with both evening and daytime options.
Whether you want to become a figure skater, hockey player, or simply learn for fun, fitness, and confidence on the ice, we’ll have you covered.
In line with the Houston market, we currently expect an 8-week course to cost approximately $220–$250, depending on the class type and package selected.
Our current plan is to offer 8-week semesters beginning in September 2026. Please keep checking this website for updates on registration dates and program details.
