Basic Skills Program
Beginners - ages 6-15 yrs
Learn to Skate Registration Opens Soon
Whether your child dreams of becoming a figure skater, playing hockey, or simply wants to feel confident skating with family and friends, Learn to Skate Basic 1–6 is the perfect place to start. Designed for skaters ages 6–15, the program teaches the fundamental skills that every skater needs, regardless of which direction they may choose to take in the future.
Beginning with Basic 1, skaters develop balance, forward movement, gliding and stopping before progressing through six levels that introduce backward skating, edges, crossovers, turns and greater speed and control. Our goal is simple: keep skaters moving, learning and having fun! As their skills develop, they’ll gain the confidence and strong skating foundation they need to continue into figure skating, hockey, advanced skating programs—or simply enjoy a lifetime of skating.
