What is Junior Blades?
A quiet, focused one-hour ice practice session usually scheduled close to the time of Learn to Skate Classes. The session is designed especially for Learn to Skate and is a great time to practice skills, meet new friends, or take private lessons with a Deep South authorized coach.

Rules

Skaters in Deep South Ice and Sports Complex Learn to Skate program only

Basic jumps allowed - no axels or double jumps
-
Basic Spins allowed - no flying spins
-
No hockey gear (helmets & gloves allowed)

No hockey sticks, pucks, or training aids
-
One earbud allowed only — no speakers

Counter-clockwise skating unless performing program with private coach

No racing, tag, or aggressive skating

No shouting
-
Keep away from the center of the ice so that coaches can give private lessons
Eligibility

All skaters currently registered in Deep South Learn to Skate Programs. (Snowplow Sams, Basic Skills 1-6, Freeskate 1-6, and Adults 1-6, Snowplow Hockey, Basic Hockey)

Skaters who are taking a private lesson with an Deep South Ice and sports Complex authorized coach
